Amniomancy
Divination by means of the caul, or membrane that sometimes
envelopes the head of a child at birth. From an inspection
of this caul, wise women predicted the sort of future the baby
would have. If it were red, happy days were in store for the
child, or if lead-colored, he would have misfortunes.
