usually denied, explained away, or ignored. The damned described
by Fort as the data that science has excluded, referred
to a wide variety of scientific anomalies. The Book of the Damned
was first published in 1919. It was followed by New Lands, 1923;
Lo! 1931; and Wild Talents, 1932. A complete collected edition,
The Books of Charles Fort, was published in 1941.
