Celonitis (or Celontes)
This fabulous stone was said to be found in the tortoise. It
was believed to resist fire and to have healing virtues. In addition,
when carried under the tongue on the day of the new
moon and for the fifteen days following, during the lunar ascension,
it inspired its fortunate possessor to foretell future
events every day from sunrise to six oclock
