Centre House
A British fellowship founded in 1966 by New Age teacher
Christopher Hills to provide training in yoga, meditation,
awareness, and sensitivity development. The center consisted
of a resident community that organizes special courses, lectures,
and seminars. One activity was the Inward Bound course,
which combined yoga and meditation with mountaineering
and was designed to ‘‘discover and experience in depth the
harmony between individuals and cosmos by development of
the relationship between mind, body and Nature.’’
Hills left the community in the 1970s and went on to found
the University of the Trees in Boulder Creek, California. Last
known address 10a, Airlie Gardens, London, W8 7AL, England.
