Devil’s Cauldron
An abyss at the summit of the peak of Tenerife, Canary Islands.
A stone cast into the gulf resounds as though a copper
vessel were being struck by a huge hammer; thus the Spaniards
gave it its name. The inhabitants of the island believed that the
infernal regions were there, where the souls of the wicked dwell
forever.
