Fendeurs
A supposed French Rosicrucian society that flourished in
the mid-seventeenth century. It appears to have been formed
in the twelfth century as a league to combat severe forest laws
in France. The fendeurs were hewers, and their organization
was similar to that of the Italian Carbonari or charcoal burners.
