Moleoscopy
A system of interpretation of moles or birthmarks on various
parts of the body (usually classed medically as a benign
form of nevus, and not normally requiring surgery). Moles were
considered to have special occult significance in ancient times,
and their systematic interpretation as indicative of character
and destiny was popularized during the sixteenth and seventeenth
centuries. The positions of the moles were linked with
astrological signs.
