Yes, you Need More Than Aerobic Exercise. While aerobics are an important component to overall fitness, you also need to incorporate muscle building workouts several times a week to achieve a well balanced exercise program.

The benefits of aerobics are well known. When you exercise aerobically you strengthen your heart muscle as well as your entire cardiovascular system. Muscle building workouts fine tune the body and make it better able to function and burn away fat.

There are two types of muscle building workouts that will either allow you to gain muscle mass or tone your existing muscle. The goal of a low rep, high weight muscle building workout is to increase muscle mass, or pump up the muscle to its greatest volume. Lifting heavy weight causes the muscle fibers to swell and you will notice a significant increase in the mass of muscle under your skin. The goal of high rep, low weight muscle building workouts is to tone the muscle and make it stronger without a significant noticeable change in mass. Women often perform toning workouts in order to sculpt their muscles and make them appear more defined and bodybuilders select programs that allow them to increase mass.

When people begin new muscle building workouts they expect results quickly. This is fine if your body is lean to begin with. But if you have a high ratio of body fat to lean muscle, you will have to do aerobic cardiovascular exercises to burn off fat in combination with muscle building workouts to build muscle in order to see the desired results. Now there are many ways to do this…

As you know, the secret way to dropping fat is begin your focus on energy rather than ‘fitness’ – and understand that energy is really the answer that you’re looking for – not necessarily a cut body.  Most equate a cut body with energy, but that is a total lack of understanding.  Yes, cardiovascular workouts will cut the fat, but ONLY if you’re diet is on par and you’re counting chemicals (not calories!).

This means you at least need to be organic and non-GMO while you are doing cardiovascular exercise.  If you can grow your own food, then even better.  Also, you need to focus on shrinking the stomach.  If you are overweight, a major piece of your problem is ‘eating to get full’ continues to increase over a long period of time because you have expanded your stomach.  If you are planning to eat the same amount of food on a given day, you need to eat smaller portions MORE TIMES per day to keep the stomach shrunk.

You ever see those bodybuilders who have those large stomachs?  This is because they are cramming calories to try to keep the muscle up – and most of them are miserable due to the amount of artifical hormones they are on.


  1. Keep the stomach shrunk – at least smaller portions if you want to keep the same amount of food
  2. You MUST eat organic and non-GMO, specifically a PALEO diet.  Yes, some like ketogentic, and we will discuss that in a later article.
  3. Focus your knowledge and efforts on energy accumulation, not necessary ‘diet and exercise’ (western thinking).
  4. For muscle building focus on NATURAL movements.  Failure to do natural body movements is what results in injury, fatigue and failure to reach goals.

Natural movements are stuff that Tony Horton makes you do in P90X.  That kind of stuff.  Pushups, situps, and pullups.  What happens when you are in a gym and using equipment is the movement fails to be a natural movement for the body, which results in some muscles being worked but the supporting joints and muscles around them are NOT being worked, resulting in imbalance, also causing injury.

Hey everyone…

Once again, the FDA threatens a kratom ban.  In late 2016, the DEA tried to schedule 1 the plant, but there was such a backlash that they held off.

One year later, they are coming after it, yet again.

Folks, this is ridiculous.  In our society, we are long overdue at making the natural Marijuana plant legal, and it is FINALLY happening.

Kratom is no different.  It’s a green plant from the earth.  Here are the numbers, courtesy of the American Kratom Association, who has been tracking this stuff closely because of their fear of FDA/DEA.

FDA says 36 deaths have been caused by the drug, which conflicts with none proven according to the American Kratom Association.

Chris Bell, a filmmaker, mentioned on Joe Rogan’s podcast that he interviewed one of the parents who claimed that Kratom was the root cause of her son’s death.  That son was also on 3 big pharma drugs at the time.  Also according to Bell, Big Pharma could be involved because there are a couple patents on the alkaloids in the plant.  You can hear more of the podcast here:

You have an opioid crisis, and the only natural substance that is saving lives is actually being considered to be shut down.  Trump has declared the Opioid epidemic as a ‘natural emergency’, and while Trump himself may not know much about kratom, once he sees the backlash on Twitter (happening now), I am sure that he would change his mind.

Kratom is like marijuana – both in nature, not a synthetic, man-made substance.  It’s hard to control stuff from nature, and easy to tweak ‘from nature’ with something man-made to create a drug.  Example?  Painkillers usually have the synthetic acetaminophen and are combined with our poppy seed (from nature) alkaloids codeine, and so forth.  So you ban codeine/poppy seeds, the stuff that really works, but always make the man-made substance (acetaminophen as our example here,) legal.  As with most man-made synthetic substances, acetaminophen is trash, linked to tons of side effects and is terrible for the liver.

Kratom MUST be kept legal and we MUST fight to keep it legal.  Thousands of lives have been saved because of this plant.  Not to mention that it relieves anxiety, which in the US, anything natural that relieves anxiety is needed.

Even I was against Kratom in the beginning – but when I tried it, I loved it.  In fact, I even tried to up my dose to see what would happen, and mother nature didn’t let me OD. (as the case with natural substances, like marijuana).  Mother nature simply gave me the same effect, regardless if I upped my dose or not.  It was amazing.  I take it for headaches and anxiety from time to time. There is no doubt that ‘lawsuits galore’ will take place if they pull this plant from people who are relying on it to stay away from addiction in order to avoid something much worse.

Let’s face it, if Kratom is pulled, thousands more will die.  Because you are NOT fixing any root causes of addiction by pulling a natural plant that’s giving them NATURAL RELIEF!

Technology and media entertainment have become ubiquitous in our lives today. Almost everything we do daily involves interacting with some level of technology. Technology, and the companies producing and controlling that technology, also mediate our daily experience on a subtle but impactful level. Despite all the benefits technology seems to have given us, it has also robbed us of the real and natural human experience. We are the first species ever on Earth to have created this vast disconnect between ourselves and nature., and this is destroying our minds, bodies and souls. We are essentially becoming zombies, robbed of free will and sensation and constantly hungry for passive entertainment.

How Technology Separates Us from Nature and Ourselves

Humans have a constant need for entertainment and stimulation. The very thing making our brains so much more sophisticated than most other creatures is also an important part of our entertainment downfall. Technology provides the connections, stimulation and distraction our brains crave. This is one reason humans seems to consume entertainment media at such an unprecedented rate. Technology also gives us greater access to this stimulation than ever before. Even a few hundred years ago, a play or performance was an extremely special event and was often something enjoyed regularly by only those who were very wealthy. Now most members of our society can buy a cheap mobile device and watch YouTube on free wifi.

With such limited historical access to passive entertainment options, humans had no choice but to go out and be productive, explore and expand their minds and creativity in other ways. The majority of these ways involving being outside, learning about and exploring nature. Easy access to technology and entertainment has allowed us to get mental stimulation in easier ways, but this does not mean it is healthier for our minds or bodies. It is quite the opposite. Just like going for a run at the park may be less comfortable or more difficult than sitting at home, it has health benefits that are not always noticeable right away.

Constant consumption of entertainment media and the vast organizations connected to it have stolen each of our human senses. Human brains, especially in children, grow and change based on what is input into the senses. The media can and does control the mind by shaping how it develops. People who would otherwise be independent, self-motivated and intelligently questioning individuals become passive and dependent on the technology for stimulation, satisfaction and comfort. This makes technology and entertainment, in the purest sense, like a drug. Companies use this drug to ensure their control over the masses.

The Impact on Sight

Sight is one of the strongest human senses. Human brains are highly visual, and a great deal of mental function is devoted to processing, understanding and remembering what we see. Television and videos have taken over this sense, especially for kids. Just about every kid in the modern day watches YouTube with very little moderation on what they access. These videos become the focus of attention and rob even children of a rich or realistic visual experience.What the world really looks like becomes taken over and mediated by television. This is especially true of graphic or violent imagery. While research does not support that watching violence or playing violent games causes children or adults to become violent, it does numb the brain to the impact of these images and experiences. A person who constantly experiences visual violence on television may not react strongly or at all to actual violence when they see it, and they may not develop sympathy for victims of violence. This disconnects them from community and the desire to help and protect others.

The Impact on Hearing

Musical entertainment is more accessible with technology than ever before in history. Just about everyone walks around with an iPod or similar device and earbuds plugged into their ears. This creates isolation and ‘disconnect’ from the environment. People are no longer interested in absorbing the quiet and comforting sounds of nature. They are no longer interested in real conversation with others or the chance to connect positively with a stranger.Controlling the hearing sense also controls our ability to have silence. True silence is something that many young people today can no longer tolerate in their lives. Their need for background sound or music is constant. This deprives them of the ability to simply sit in peace and contemplate, reflect or meditate.

The Impact on Touch

Technology and media impact touch both directly and indirectly. Touch is an important human sensation linked to happiness, comfort and the ability to connect with and trust others. The cell phone has taken this sense in several ways. First, we are constantly touching and holding our technology. The touchscreen receives more attention from sensitive fingers and hands than just about anything else. This technology is flat, cold and lifeless. We are deprived of the sensation of real touch found by making contact with living things and elements of nature.Indirectly, cell phones steal the sensation of touch by making physical contact no longer necessary. Before phones, people had to interact in person or they were forced to write letters by hand. Almost nobody today does this. People may even send text messages or make calls to family members when they are both inside the same house. By not being physically present with someone, a rift and disconnect with that person is created. Many people say that technology has given us the chance to be more connected than ever before. That is true insofar as the amount or ease of connection is concerned, but the connection made is shallower and not as lasting or important. As with many things, we have settled for cheap and easy connection rather than high quality.

The Impact on Taste

Our sense of taste has been entirely stolen by food manufacturers and companies with little interest in our health or safety. While food may seem to taste better today than ever before, most of that taste is an illusion of chemicals and fake ingredients that trick our bodies. This has an impact on health and our connection to nature in big ways.First, our health is destroyed by modern processed foods, and often we don’t even realize it. Our minds have developed to equate good taste with health benefits, but healthy food is not usually cheap food. To produce cheap food in vast quantities, we have sacrificed quality and taste. Food manufacturers know full well that processed food doesn’t taste very good at all and nobody would eat it if they didn’t add flavorings. Our sense of taste adapts to the presence of these chemicals and additives, and we lose the ability to taste without them. People who constantly eat processed or flavored foods no longer find healthy real foods appetizing because their sense of taste has been so corrupted. This has obvious negative impacts on health and reinforces the consumption of unhealthy foods.

Technology has also taken away our connection to our food. We no longer really understand where our food comes from or how it’s made. The push towards organic food is a way to fight back against this, but generations worth of damage has already been done to our bodies and the environment by the food industry. We have lost all respect for where food comes from or what it takes, and costs, to produce real and good food. Instead of paying more for organic and whole foods now, we pay more in medical costs later. This is exactly how the system wants it to be. Big pharma makes its money somehow.

The Impact on Smell

Our sense of smell has also been corrupted by the food and retail industries. Science has shown us that smell has a huge impact on our subconscious mind. Companies use this to silently control what we do and buy. Many of the smells we encounter in fast food restaurants or retail stores are entirely fake. We aren’t’ smelling the actual food or products because those natural smells aren’t really that good. The companies give us fake smells to lure us in to make purchases of inferior products.Air pollution is also rampant in the world today. It destroys our health and our ability to appreciate the real smells of nature. Many people today are trying to escape to the mountains and wilderness for a very good reason. They are the places you can truly take a deep breath and feel good about it.

The Impact on Sixth Senses and Brain Activity

The regular five senses have an impact on how the brain develops and makes connections, but technology may also be impacting the brain and our bodies in ways that are invisible and impossible to really detect.The impact of wifi and various electronic signals on our brains and senses is not fully understood. We know that these electromagnetic waves are passing through us all the time. We know that these waves have some impact on electrons, molecules and electrical activity. Our brains are a combination of electrical and chemical signals, so it makes sense that these waves may have some subtle impact on how we think, how our brains work and possibly our ability to access the deeper parts of our thinking.

There is no doubt that technology has caused a change in our society and ourselves that is negative in many ways. It is long past time for us to wake up and realize what technology, media and big companies that control them are doing to us. Technology can be used for good and positive purpose but only if we exert control on it and ensure that it works for us and deepens our connections and understanding of the world instead of isolating us and keeping us shallow and needy. The zombie apocalypse may very well be upon us, but it’s not caused by a virus, and it’s much more insidious than we thought.

Bottom line: Although technology is making us smarter with information, the lack of human connection goes against all laws of nature and is destroying overall human consciousness.

The Practice of Sun Gazing

Sun gazing is called multiple things – it is also known as solar healing, solargazing, sun staring, Sun Yoga, Surya Yoga and Solar Yoga. All terms refer to the practice of staring directly at the sun in order to receive nourishment, healing and spiritual enlightenment.  What most people don’t tell you is that the real reason for this is because the eyes do absorb the light from the sun, and the sun is the most full spectrum light on the planet.  That means that your body is absorbing color energy, to which is also the purpose of food – the only difference is that you are eating color energy with plants while with the sun, you are absorbing that color energy through the eyes.  Life is about energy and vibration. 

The gazing is usually done only during the first hour after sunrise or the last hour before sunset, when the sun’s rays are most gentle to your eye.  This is especially important for beginners, or people who wear sunglasses.  Your eyes are weak, therefore, kind of like a muscle, you must slowly strengthen it.

One guy that is well known in this field is a man with a nickname of “HRM”, short for Hira Ratan Manek, who owns a business out of Florida where he gives his testimonials on sungazing and it’s benefits.  Hira Ratan Manek was born in 1937 in Bodhavad, India, and was raised in Calicut, Kerala, India, where he earned his degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Kerala. After graduating, he joined his family’s spice trade business before retiring from that in 1992 to pursue a life-long interest in sun gazing.  He now tours the US and other parts of the world giving his accounts.  If you search for him on Youtube, you’ll find some of his lectures and they are very interesting.  I have added my favorite below.

Manek states that we have a super computer in our bodies, given to us by nature and that’s our brain — which he calls the “brainuter.” He says that sun gazing activates the full potential of your brain, bringing forth “infinite inherent powers” that have remained dormant for millennia.

In order to activate these dormant brain powers, Manek suggests:

Being a holistic entity it needs a holistic power supply. Sun energy is the source that powers the brain, which can enter and leave the human body or the brain only through one organ that is the human eye. Eyes are the Sun Energy’s entry door to the human brain.

Sun gazing was also practiced by ancient Egyptians, Aztecs, Greeks, Mayans, in Tibetan Yoga and some traditions of Qigong, Tai Chi, and by some Native American tribes.

HRM, states that the sun can be used to heal the mind, body and spirit. As a result of sun gazing, he claims to have better physical, mental, emotional and spiritual health.

Perhaps the most startling claim HRM makes is that, since he became a devoted sun gazer, he has been able to sustain himself on solar energy alone for very long periods, without eating any food.

HRM claims they discovered his brain’s gray cells were regenerating and that his pineal gland was expanding, rather than the shrinking that is typical after the mid-fifties.

Since 2002, Manek has given hundreds of lectures all over the world and has been the subject of many articles, interviews, and even a film. In 2002, he established the Solar Healing Center, with headquarters in Orlando, Florida. There are now Solar Healing Centers all over the world, as well as over thousands of enthusiastic sun gazing followers.

The Sungazing Processes and Practices

HRM has developed a method for sun gazing, based on years of study, and trial and error. He states it can be accomplished by anyone, in any part of the world, at any time of the year. Sun gazing is a one-time practice that takes 9 months to complete. It is generally broken into three phases:

  • First 3 months
  • 3-6 months
  • 6-9 months

After the 9 months, there is a life-long regimen of “bare foot walking” on earth soil for 45 minutes a day, and the more you stick to this regimen, the more your body will be “recharged.” More about this later.

First Three Months

Manek instructs sun gazers to begin their sun gazing journey by spending a maximum of 10 seconds on the first day looking directly into the sun during the safe hours, which are defined as within one hour after sunrise or within one hour of sunset. While sun gazing, it is important if possible to stand on warm, bare earth. This helps to ground you and enhances the sun gazing benefits.

On the second day, look for 20 seconds. Add 10 additional seconds every day thereafter. So, after 10 days, you will be looking at the sun for 100 seconds (e.g., one minute and 40 seconds).

In this first phase, it is common for people to begin experiencing a more positive mindset, less negativity, more confidence, more compassion, and less fear.

Three to Six Months

At the end of three months, your gazing time will be about 15 minutes. This is the period during which many people begin to find their physical diseases subsiding.

HRM also states that 70-80 percent of the energy synthesized from food is used by your brain to “fuel tensions and worries”, and after three months, these tensions go away, leaving this newly freed energy available for more productive use. You might also find your need for food decreasing.

When you reach 30 minutes duration, he states you will be “slowly liberated from physical disease” since, by then, your organs are all receiving their needed Prana[iv], or life energy, directly from the sun.

Your body needs energy, not necessarily food. Food is actually our “secondary energy source,” according to HRM. The human body does not convert sunlight into energy in the same way plants do, with chlorophyll, but through a different photosynthesis process, like a photovoltaic cell.

HRM states:

“You are your own master at the end of 6 months.”

Six to Nine Months

After 6 months, you will start to utilize the original form of “micro food,” which comes from the sun. This has the additional benefit of having no toxic waste attached to it.

At around 7.5 months, or 35 minutes per day of sun gazing, you can expect your hunger to start decreasing appreciably. Hunger results from the energy requirements of your body, which is a must for your existence. Conventionally, you are getting the sun energy indirectly by eating foods that are a by-product of sun energy. Now, you are getting the energy directly.

Between 8 and 9 months (44 minutes), HRM says you can expect your hunger to be pretty much gone. If it isn’t, he says it is because you don’t have enough belief in the process, and it will take you a little longer, but it is still achievable.

More importantly, at this stage, your energy levels are very high and you will have a very deep sense of well-being.

After Nine Months

Quickly after nine months, you require to discontinue solar gazing for the sake of eye care–your eyes have reached the limits of what they can safely take. Buckle up folks – because you are about to learn some secrets about hives –
It was around 2013, and I was finally stepping on the treadmill for the first time in about 10 years. I had to make a change. I was starting to look in the mirror and hate how I saw myself. In fact, I had already started some changes with my diet. I was now going to Whole Foods and eating a little more organic, but I wasn’t quite 100 percent organic, yet. I was taking Vitamin C supplements and taking Secretagogue Gold, an HGH amino acid formula that was working pretty well.

But something odd was happening when I was running. I began developing these hives minutes after starting to run. I thought that this was pretty odd, but obviously, I wasn’t going to stop running because the running was taking my weight off. And why would I be getting hives now, all of a sudden? The hives were mainly on my forehead, too. No way to hide them. A couple on the cheeks, and around the neck and chest area, too, but not as bad as the forehead. The rest of my body didn’t get them. How embarrassing. I would hope that no one would see them, and with my hives, as long as I didn’t scratch they would go away in a matter of about 15 minutes.

Well, a month later, my Grandma passed away, and she raised me since I was a little boy. I continued running as it now helped me with mental stress that I hadn’t had before and at the same time, I had just made a change in my career and the stress was getting to me. Here I was, still breaking out in these annoying hives. To make matters worse, now at work, especially in the winter of 2013, when I was stressed or coming inside into a hot room from it being cold outside, I would also break out in hives. It was embarrassing, frustrating, and was damaging my self-confidence. So, I tried to put two and two together.  That entire winter, whenever my body heat rose, due to stress, exercise, or direct sunlight hitting my face, I would break out in them.  I started eating organic food and told myself no more over the counter or prescription drugs, so I went the entire 2014 without taking anything and continuing taking care of myself.  What was odd, is when Summer came around in 2014, they just stopped. I thought I was cured! Yes!

But sure enough, when Winter of 2014 came around, it revealed its ugly head again.  The hives were back.  I realized that from about October to April, there was a possibility of me getting them.  I couldn’t understand it.  It was a nightmare.  At this point, I am still exercise almost daily, organic food only, and taking supplements such as vitamin C, etc. to help boost my immune system.  I didn’t know what to do about them, and I refused to take any prescription drugs, so basically I just dealt with them, and tried to limit my stress whenever I could.  Problem was, even if I limited by stress, they would still come around during exercise in the winter. So, by winter 2015, I am fed up, and I tell myself that it’s time to figure this out and see what the hell is really going on.

I tried cutting out gluten and sodium, and neither worked.  I tried tanning, because some websites said tanning and having some additional Vitamin D can help with the hives, but it really didn’t, and it made me look older, so I didn’t like it.  I thought it was working at first, but sure enough, I had a couple outbreaks anyway, and they still revealed themselves through the tan skin. Then I began to research more in depth and one website said that Zyrtec could help with hives.  I remembered that I had actually taken Zyrtec for spring time allergies before I started eating organic and cutting out dairy. Once I quit dairy in 2012, I stopped having allergies so I stopped taking the Zyrtec. I had taken it for about 10 years in the springtime. But it wasn’t like I was addicted to taking Zyrtec, because again, I was only taking it in the Spring for allergies. So, I was desperate, and even though I hadn’t touched a Zyrtec since 2012, I had a couple public situations I needed to be “hive-free” from, so I figured I might as well give it a shot.  So, I take the Zyrtec at my events, even though I felt like I was destroying my body by popping those pills, and magically, the hives never occurred.  I was angry because I wanted my new life to be where there were no man-made chemicals in my body except from nature!

So, I realize that something is wrong here.  Something just isn’t right.  Why is Zyrtec working?  So, me being a health nut I hop online and start Googling natural histamine blockers to see if they will help. I come across Butterbur, Stinging Nettle, Quercetin, Vitamin C mega dosing, etc. to rid them and I try them all. In fact, I would pre-make my morning drinks and throw all of these ingredients in them every morning to start my day. Unfortunately, after a couple months of this, by March 2016, I realize that it only helps a little bit, and does not completely rid them. I start doing some research in depth and realize that my histamines are probably completely jacked up because of mild Zyrtec withdrawal… and here I am, 3 years later, STILL having withdrawal hives because it happens whenever my body wants to release histamines.  I am absolutely convinced that Zyrtec messed up my body’s natural histamines and I am not sure how they can recover now.  So, I start to blame Zyrtec and see tons of forums on the exact same issue, where people are losing their minds and blaming Zyrtec.

So now it is the Summer of 2016, and I don’t want to deal with another Winter of hives. I am just fed up, so I start thinking about what I can do. I can’t just blame it on Zyrtec and take Zyrtec for the rest of my life. There has to be another way to heal the body, even if it is addicted to Zyrtec. After all, you can’t give up.


So during my research in Summer of 2016, I came across an article about dermatographia welts. dermatographia welts are similar to hives, but basically this is a part of urticaria (hives) that appear within minutes followed by itching, just like what I had.  I came across this blog that mentioned that Histamines themselves are the cause of dermatographia welts. If the adrenal glands aren’t functioning properly due to adrenal fatigue, then they won’t release enough cortisol and there will be a higher release of histamine, meaning more itchiness and welts. The blog went on to say that one way to make sure the body is releasing enough cortisol and reducing the amount of histamine in the blood, especially during times of temperature changes, stress, etc., is to support your adrenal glands.  That made perfect sense, because Zyrtec is an ANTI-histamine that reduces histamine, which is why it works. Ah hah, things were starting to come together a little bit now. It’s about raising cortisol and lowering histamines. But how could I raise cortisol and why didn’t I have enough already? And what’s up with these ‘Adrenal Glands’, and what are they exactly?

So after doing a little more research toward the end of the summer, I came across a magnificent book called Adrenal Fatigue by James L. Wilson. In this book, James talks about how our modern-day lifestyle in this country is destroying our adrenal glands. And to make matters worse, once they are destroyed, it is incredibly hard to get them back to functioning properly again – but there IS stuff that you can do to make them function well again.

When reading this book, I realized that I was stuff doing a lot of stuff wrong.


Some high-level causes of Adrenal Fatigue are the following:

  • Excessive Stress, specifically emotional Stress (especially consistent emotional stress) – if you add on physical stress, it taxes them even more, and exercise is physical stress, although healthy physical stress (I was dealing with constant stress)
  • Your diet, specifically processed food, sugar, etc. (My diet was good, but I still think I was eating too much spicy foods and gluten)
  • Insufficient sleep (I usually had decent sleep, but I know many that don’t!)
  • Trauma (I had recently had a septoplasty surgery – loss of blood causes more stress than you know!  Ask yourself if the hives occurred after a surgery OR after donating or giving a lot of blood.  Loss of blood is serious and our bodies were NOT meant to lose blood!)
  • Caffeine use (I was ingesting Caffeine a lot, especially when writing a book on weekends)
  • Temperature of your water – little did I realize the affects of cold water.  I was drinking cold water all day, every day. It’s the only drink I would drink – and therefore I think that it was causing my body to have to work harder to digest the water, as opposed to room temperature water, or a hot beverage… so bottom line, drink water at room temp if you drink nothing but water…

But most importantly, when reading the book, you realize every single part of your life where your adrenal glands were taxed, and then discover that it happens much easier than you think. That you may be thinking you are okay, but all along, you really aren’t.  That each saddening event in your life, or traumatic experience is doing more to your body than you think it is. That your diet and sleep schedule are damaging your life more than you think that it is. And to make matters worse, doctors do not know much about adrenal fatigue unless you are scoring incredibly low in Addison Disease testing. They don’t look deep into your issues and put this stuff together. I’ll let you read the book, but I highly recommend it, because what my advice is below on how I beat my hives and started restoring my adrenal glands. More than likely, if you’re reading this blog, you have no clue what the adrenal glands are and worse, your doctor probably doesn’t, either.

First and foremost, you want to up your cortisol, you don’t want to touch your histamines with products like Zyrtec. Doing this only works temporarily, and you’re actually tackling the issue backwards and only temporarily. So, if none of the below work, then you need to up your cortisol via Hydrocortisone pills, and get the ones without any additives (can be found online or through a doctor), and taper off of them down the road while increasing vitamin C.  Do this in combination with the bullets above, and you should see a DRASTIC decline in your hives – or they will be eliminated completely, like mine.

BUT… I didn’t have to take Hydrocortisone.  Here is what I did, and it will make a lot more sense if you read the Adrenal Fatigue book (also in a link below the blog) –


  1. Ate a little more salt (don’t be afraid to salt your food if you are a low sodium diet person – make sure its sea salt, though.)
  2. Upped my Vitamin C intake
  3. Eliminated much of my caffeine intake (I believe this is a MAJOR culprit to taxing the adrenals).
  4. Eliminated sugary breakfasts (syrup, honey, fruits), and going to a more protein based breakfast.  There is nothing wrong with organic honey and fruits, but there is strong evidence supporting that a protein based breakfast is best to start the day.
  5. Adrenals control hormones, and attribute a lot to hormone balance, which is key in the cortisone/histamine ratio. You should work on your hormones by taking Thyroid Supplements and Adrenal Supplements.  Specifically, take Adrenal Extracts.  More on that below.
  6. Take pregnenolone and progesterone, BOTH. They can restore some of what’s missing.  Both of these are released by the adrenals.
  7. Take a small amount of DHEA, especially if you are male. Women can take, too.
  8. Licorice Root Tea – Licorice Root tea is great for the adrenals. I actually mix Licorice Root and Green Tea, together, in the morning.
  9. Chew your food. You wouldn’t believe it, but it taxes your digestive system when you don’t chew your food. Chew it and relax!
  10. Drink your water/liquids at room temperature.  Ease up on the cold drinks.  You should be drinking water!
  11. Avoid stress in other ways if they are triggers – breathing techniques, learn meditation (download the CALM or HEADSPACE APP on your iPhone)
  12. Eat right. This is a must. Research Paleo diet, which is basically a diet that cavemen would have eaten – nothing “man-made” and it’s amazing food.

Now here’s the deal, even with all this, I still had a couple small outbreaks as I toned it down!  But as my body got used to all of these things on a consistent basis, by the fall of 2016, in October, when I normally would get the hives, they were gone.  This helped me so much and what’s even better is this is ALL NATURAL METHOD of beating the hives, which is the way that it should be.  It took me 3 years’ worth of research and I told myself that if I ever found the secret, I would surely give back.  That’s what I am doing.

Lastly, let’s say all else fails and you try this stuff for a few months, read the book, and nothing happens.  The hives are still coming full force as they always did.  Very doubtful, but let’s play devil’s advocate here.

What is recommended, and is sure to work, are Adrenal cell extracts daily, combined with hydrocortisone orally (not the cream!) as stated above.

Take both together, and as months’ progress, you must ween off hydrocortisone after about 6 months and raise your vitamin C levels.  This isn’t the ‘best’ way to do it because hydrocortisone is a man-made drug and one of your goals should be to lean away from those kinds of things, but it works and works to restore the adrenals to handle stressors again…

Bottom line?

EVALUATE YOUR DIET AND RESTORE YOUR ADRENALS.  There is a quick tip guide here that is CHEAP with some valuable information.

UPDATE:  1 year later, October 2017, STILL NO HIVES… and guess what?  I found 1 more secret that was icing on the cake.  But it will be revealed later along with other secrets that all tie together.

What system is the adrenal glands linked to?  You might have guessed it, the endocrine system.  And what other organs are involved in the endocrine system?  How about the pituitary gland. How about the thyroid gland!  Take a look at how many thyroid issues we have in America. Take a look at our reproductive issues in this country. So ask yourself, how and why is this endocrine system being attacked?  What causes it? Always seek the root cause on EVERYTHING!

Also, don’t forget that I am a health nut and first things first, for many of you, you need to start there. You need to work on a lifestyle change.  Before I release my life coaching class to help you organize that new lifestyle, my biggest recommendation for YOU is to work toward eating organic and non-GMO foods – trying to lean more toward a paleo diet.  If you don’t know much about paleo eating, I have a good cookbook that I like and I have a link to it at the end.  But why is Paleo so important?  Quickly, it’s because its basically a ‘from nature’ diet where you only eat foods from this earth (so meats, veggies, fruits, and nuts with no processed eating).  By STARTING with a Paleo diet, you can creep in other food to see if it triggers hives and if so, you could fight a trigger, or at least one of the triggers.  It’s a fantastic way to lose weight, too.


So, 3 main things to start out your keys to success here:

1) Migrate towards a PALEO, “from the earth” only diet – a good cookbook that is well worth it is located here.  The reason for this is to kick start your diet from nature, and then you can add items as you go along to verify specific ‘triggers’.

2) Restore your adrenal glands! – by supplementation and research, research, research!  Remember, most doctors don’t have a lot of knowledge on these glands.

3) Work on living stress free.  You can work on your adrenals, but you must take the right approach to the stress indicators in your life.  Also, look into meditation and yoga to control your stress levels.  Don’t go running to doctors for an anti-anxiety pill that could have severe side affects.

Also, if you just scrolled to the bottom of this blog and didn’t read the full story, big mistake, because the backstory is key to beating this!   You need to know why the diet, stress, and the adrenals are so important.  By understanding this, the life of hives should come to an end. Your body is trying desperately to tell you something when you get hives.

Now here’s the real deal. Some of this may be a “shock” to you. You’re reading this and thinking that there is NO WAY that all the doctors you have seen on this hive issue could be wrong. You can’t believe that you have spent hundreds or thousands of dollars on allergy medicine for little reason. I understand. I was there.  And I am NOT a doctor, but I am confident in saying that the root cause is the adrenal glands, and that hives are NOT a bad thing because it is your body warning you of overdoing it.  In fact, you are LUCKY that you have hives.  Some peoples issues due to stress get much worse and chronic illness begins.  If you are just struggling with hives alone, you are incredibly lucky that you are getting this warning signal so you can correct the root cause now. Be smart and start seeking root cause to your issues – not just with hives, but anything else you are encountering with your body.

Quit Smoking with eCigarettes


Quitting smoking… but Quit Smoking With eCigarettes? Here is my story on how I did it…

It’s one of the hardest things to do. I began smoking when I was 17. Believe it or not, my first cigarette was offered to me by my stepdad. Don’t get me wrong, I had attempted to smoke a little bit but never really got into it. When I was 17, I was drinking a beer (if you know my addiction story, this was the time where it all began), and he offered a smoke. Man, that nicotine was so soothing.

But when I hit around 26, I began to notice a lot of health issues. Sure, some of it was due to the bad diet, too, but I could start to see in my eyes that I was aging. I knew that this was too young. I had to do something about it. So I vowed to start with quitting smoking.

This wasn’t my first attempt to quit. I tried the nicotine patches at the age of 19. They didn’t do anything. I bought the gum at age 20 and that didn’t help much either. No matter what, it just didn’t cut it. I realized that it was more the mental addiction of having something between your fingers and the feeling of relief after each puff that made me want to continue smoking.

So from age 20-26 I continued to smoke. I was never a heavy smoker. I only smoked 8-10 cigarettes a day. I never understood how someone could really smoke more than that because you really only needed a cigarette after waking, after each meal, and before bed. Those are the times you crave them most, unless stressed. Now obviously, if you also know my story, you know that I was hooked on quite a bit of drugs. On heavy drug days, my smoking spiked up a bit, but on average, it never really peaked past 10 a day.

Still, by age 26, I knew that something had to give. I was already beginning to research supplements and organic food. I knew that smoking had to give. Even though I began to notice occasional health warnings, I still couldn’t cut out the smoking. So by age 27, I began to take supplements and improve my health by creeping organic food in my diet. Still, the smoking was too hard. Occasionally, I would have a drink, too, and I would always have to have that cigarette!

By age 28 I was starting to see a lot of people smoking the eCigarettes. I figured I might as well give it a shot because there was a place down the street that opened up near me that sold the nicotine flavored juice. At this point, I was playing a lot of basketball with a good friend of mine and the smoking was holding me back a little bit when it came to the endurance. I hopped online and did some research and came across a company called Blu. They sold the flavor, the eCig charger and battery, etc, all together in a single package and then you just bought the juice online. I figured that this was perfect because they looked like a regular cigarette! My brain would still consider me smoking a cigarette because the size was the same, the way I held it would be the same, and the smoke would still be inhaled and exhaled like a normal cigarette, too!

Needless to say, it helped a ton! Especially at the beginning. I smoked and felt much better smoking them instead of a regular cigarette. No matter what people say, I dont think it was in my mind, I really felt better smoking the eCig instead of a cigarette.

By age 29, I had eliminated cigarettes completely and was 100 percent smoking eCigarettes. I eventually moved away from the Blu and tried to smoke one of the ones where you press the button on the side (shown below) with the battery underneath.

But something happened at the age of 29. I was able to smoke the eCig in my cubicle at work because the fact that eCig really don’t give off an odor and if you blow them at the ground then it disintegrates into the air before anywhere really notices. Due to being able to smoke it at work in my cubicle, I was noticed that I was smoking it more than if I was smoking cigarettes!

Soon after, my Grandma, who had raised me most of my life, passed away. She never liked me smoking. I knew that I had to do something to quit for good – in a sense, for her. A month before she passed away, I had finally joined a gym to commit to working out full time and I used this as an opportunity to phase out the eCigarette. I told myself that I really need to quit before I turn 30 years old. That it would be the biggest 30th birthday present that I could give myself. I had spent my entire 20’s smoking something and I knew that needed to come to an end.

So what I did is I decided that the best way to quit was to eliminate times of the day where i would normally hit it. Like stated before, I first needed to cut out the smoking at work. Then i needed to cut out the times of the day where I needed it most. (After meals, upon waking, before sleeping). So I did just that…

I eliminated smoking it at work by keeping it OUT of arm distance. I told myself that if I needed to hit it, I would have to get it out of my bag. This helps more than you know.

I then eliminated it before the gym and after the gym. I was running heavily and that was justification enough that if I smoked it before or after those times then my running would be tampered with, and running was becoming my new drug of choice.

Then, I stopped hitting it before going to bed. Why need it before bed? There was no reason and it didn’t impact me falling asleep. No need, so I dropped it.

Now, I just needed to tackle after meals and upon waking. I would only smoke it in the car on the way to work, not at home when getting ready. So I just simply told myself that I didnt need it in the car and that if I wanted to smoke it, I could always smoke it at work. Now this part was important – the times where I did still smoke it (on the way to work in the morning and after meals), I would usually take 3-5 hits of it. I told myself that since these were the toughest parts of the day to drop, I would start by hitting less.

On the way to work, i started just taking a single hit, and a BIG ONE! It was enough.

Same thing after meals. I would just take 1-2 hits after each meal, and that was good enough for me!

Before I knew it, after doing this for a couple months, I found myself not even thinking about it anymore. After eating, I simply didn’t think about it. If i did remember, then I would go ahead and hit it as normal. Same thing in the morning. In fact, there was a few days I totally forgot about it and left it at home!

Before I knew it, just a month before my 30th birthday, it was over. I simply didn’t need it anymore. I would go days without thinking about it and would still occasionally take a hit, but my body and mind no longer needed the nicotine. I also attribute this to the fact that I was working out heavily at the time, and I believe that running became my new addiction. But there is no question that eCigarettes helped me quit and gave me the avenue to quit. After all, do you think I would have been able to do the same thing with the same routines with an actual cigarette versus an eCig? Probably not.

What a 30th birthday present I gave myself!

According to the United States Centers for Disease Control, there are over 29 million people in the country diagnosed with diabetes. There are an additional 86 million adults who have higher than normal blood sugar, but have not been diagnosed with the disease.  That’s touching on almost a 3rd of the United States.  Why? How?

Some of diabetes reversal is common sense. We’ll take a look at these, but there are also a few remedies for diabetes which may surprise you. Here are the best tips to reverse diabetes and to keep your blood sugar under control.

Foods to Eliminate from Your Diet

If you’ve been diagnosed with diabetes, you and your doctor have reviewed a list of necessary dietary changes. That list can seem long and daunting. That having been said, there are a few categories of food which you should avoid.

First, slow down on the drinking. Alcohol has a huge impact on your blood sugar, and will damage your liver. But how does alcohol impact your blood sugar? It comes down to how alcohol is made. Ethanol is commercially produced using a process called fermentation. Many other alcohols can be made this way, but are more likely to be produced by man-made routes – from natural gas, oil or even coal. Fermentation is a process in which yeast breaks down sugar into alcohol and carbon dioxide.

Remember that any damage to your liver will put undue stress on your kidneys, which are critical to the management of insulin in your body.

Secondly, you’re going to want to cut refined sugars out of your diet. Candy, soda and other sweets need to go. You might ask yourself if organic cane sugar is okay – the anwer is NO! Our bodies were not designed to be eating sugar like that. If you do eat organic sugar, you still need to take it easy on it.

There’s also no evidence that using artificial sweeteners will be beneficial to you, so try to cut out the diet drinks as well.  Artificial sweeteners will NOT survive too much longer – they will die in about 5-10 years when the evidence of them gets out along with the dangers of aspartame.  In fact, it has been shown that even artificial sweeteners still trigger a glucose response inside the body, which is the same thing that happens when you drink sugar.

If you have to eat something sweet, it MUST be sweets found in nature.  Organic maple syrup, organic honey, organic fruit or coconut.  Do not use sugar packets or artificial sweeter packets anymore.  Want to know how shady the sugar industry has been? Finally, eliminate GMO foods from your diet. These foods are known to cause kidney and liver damage, and may increase the symptoms of diabetes. Eat clean, organic and GMO free foods when at all possible. Yes, this may require you to shop at better grocery outlets, but eating healthy is cheaper than stacks of medical bills.

Last but not least, eliminate foods that break down into sugar as well – WHITE rice, WHITE bread, WHITE pasta – and try to cut down on the carbs. Eat a diet consisting of organic meat, organic nuts, organic fruits and veggies with minimal grains. Look up the paleo diet.

If you are able to do these things right now, then decrease your medication for diabetes while you do the 2 things above and see what happens.  If it were me, I would eliminate my medication completely – but check with a holistic doctor on what they feel is best for your specific needs.

You need to understand something if you are someone who takes their blood sugar all day and monitors it. Eating will raise your blood sugar, especially carbs.  So don’t freak out if your blood sugar is lower and then raises when you eat.  You just ate!  Everyone’s blood sugar raises when they eat! So you need to understand that, and monitor heavily after you begin eating these organic foods.  You should stop taking insulin or your diabetes medication if you are eating a full organic and non-GMO diet with no refine sugars and little carbs. Then you should go to a NEW doctor (because your old will continously tell you that you still need to take medicine) and ask the new doctor if they can check you for normal blood work, just like a new patient who was never diagnosed.  Remember that once you get this STAMP that you are a diabetic, you label yourself as one and that is half of the problem. Start over and pretend you’re not one.

Now of course, I am not a doctor so I can only tell you what I’ve seen. But remember to find a holistic or naturopathic doctor and start over.  Your current doctor will label you until you die. A fresh opinion with a complete change in diet is the best thing to start with.

While some foods may increase blood sugar, others may reduce the impact. Try foods which are high in fiber. Fiber can help to flush toxins and sugars out of your body.

Try to incorporate more fish in your diet instead of beef. Fish and birds are better than cows and is easier on the stomach for digestion. Be sure it’s wild caught fish – stores are required to include this information on the packaging. Fish like salmon are high in Omega 3 and 6 fatty acids, which act as an anti-inflammatory. This will reduce some of the effects of elevated blood sugar.

Finally, try cooking with coconut oil or organic olive oil. Coconut oil can help regulate the triglycerides in your body, as well as regulate the markers for diabetes found in people who have been diagnosed.

Supplements to Regulate Diabetes

In addition to the addition (and elimination) of foods, you can also use supplements to reverse diabetes. The University of Maryland published a report about exactly this.

There are herbs and supplements which can help to lower your blood sugar. Chromium and magnesium are among these, and both are available in an easy to swallow pill from most nutrition and drug stores.

Certain teas can also help to regulate blood sugar. Gymnema, cinnamon, fenugreek and ginseng, when ingested in tea or capsule form, can help reduce the symptoms of Type 2 diabetes. Here is a list of stuff that will detox you if you’ve had a cheat meal:

These foods contain the essential nutrients that will aid in your recovery after workouts.

What you eat after a hard work in the gym is just as important as your pre-workout diet. Your nutritional requirement may vary depending on your target goals, but there are basic foods that provide a right balance of essential nutrients in the body as well as aiding in recovery after workouts.

During workouts, the body burns fuel the foods you’ve eaten before the workout as well as the stored glycogen. After working out, the muscles begin to absorb available protein and carbs to rebuild. That’s why you need to eat within 45 minutes of a workout so as to put your body in recovery mode.

The primary objective of post-workout food is to supply your body with the essential nutrients to aid in recovery as well as helping you get the best out of your workout. This usually works best if you eat easily digestible foods containing carbs, proteins, and fats.

The foods that aid in recovery includes:

Fruits are great such foods as they have easily digestible essential nutrients as well antioxidants, minerals, and vitamins. For example, the inflammatory properties of pineapples can greatly help in muscle recovery while kiwi is good for breaking down amino acids and digestion.

Wholegrain breakfast cereal

Cereals can be taken any time of the day. After workouts, you should consume cereals containing high-fiber, low sugar, and high-protein to help reload your muscles. You can take cereals with dairy milk, or yogurt to make the combination more substantial. If your goal is to develop muscles, take oatmeal in addition to cereals after workouts to get additional carbs and fiber.

Egg omelet

Eggs are rich in proteins and other essential nutrients. Eggs are great post-workout meals as they are versatile food that can be taken at any time of the day. You can serve eggs in any form whether hard-boiled, or scrambled, or poached, and eat them together with a slice of toast, onions, peppers or avocado.

Greek yoghurt

Greek yogurt is highly enriched in protein and carbohydrates. You can mix it with cereal or blueberry fruits so as to help fight muscle soreness.

Apart from the post-workout meals, you should also drink plenty of water following a workout. Water ensures that the body is properly hydrated and that the water lost during exercise through sweat is replenished for maximum results.
